Are there any guitars that can handle heavy distortion and still have twang?
I was hoping the Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Custom still had twang but I found out it didn't.
That's because the Tele Custom has humbuckers man. You aren't going to get the same twangy sound out of a humbucker that you get from a single coil. Just get a standard Tele and use a good distortion pedal. I can play metal on a standard Tele with the right pedal. Another option is the HSS (Fat) Strat which has a humbucker in the bridge and 2 single coils in the middle and neck position.
